ABOUT SAM

Sam Bragg is a storyteller drawn to the wild—both real and imagined. Originally from Utah and now based in Montana, she finds endless inspiration in the natural world, from quiet forest trails to the watchful stillness of wildlife. An avid hiker and bird watcher, Sam’s connection to animals runs deep and shapes the heart of her work.

From a young age, she was captivated by stories told through animal perspectives, spending hours searching her school library for books like Watership Down, the Warriors series by Erin Hunter, White Fang, Julie of the Wolves, and Bambi: A Life in the Woods. These stories sparked a lifelong love of narrative—especially those that explore the world through non-human eyes.

Sam has been writing since middle school, driven by a passion for storytelling and world-building. She later earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation from Brigham Young University, where she developed a strong foundation in visual storytelling, composition, and color.

She is the creator of the published graphic novel series Hooves of Death and the self-published graphic novel Between the Branches. Her work blends her love of animals, fantasy, and immersive worlds, inviting readers into stories that feel both untamed and deeply personal.

Whether she’s crafting a graphic novel or exploring a new trail, Sam continues to follow the same instinct that first led her to those library shelves: a desire to discover and tell stories that bring the natural world to life.
